Black History Month PROGRAM

University Preparatory will be having a Black History Program on Wednesday, February 29^th from 5-6pm.

To conclude our studies of slavery, Juneteenth, and Kwanza, the 4^th graders will be performing and featuring the work that we've done all month.

We would love to see you there. Come to see what your child has done and learned!

Black History Month QUIZ

Mrs. Johnson created a 3rd-5th grade take-home Black History Month quiz contest. The quiz was sent home last Friday.

Students are to work as independently as possible. Have them do a Google search for the key words in the questions.

The quiz is due back by March 27th. It is not a requirement, but I encourage you to have your child attempt to do it to practice web-searching skills and to learn more about Black History.

All completed test should be turned into the office!

Edmodo

Last week I registered the students of Room 318 on Edmodo. We will be using Edmodo in our classroom, especially for Weekend Writing. I feel that this is a great way to expose the students to the types of requirements that are offered in higher education (college). We will be using Edmodo to enhance our educational experiences in and out of the classroom.

Love Celebration

The Love Celebration is THIS Tuesday in our classroom from 12:30-1:15pm. All parents are welcome to attend.

I will be sending home in this week’s Friday folder a class list for those students who want to give out Valentine’s and also a reminder of the items you volunteered to contribute.

Narratives

I still do not know when narratives are will be going home. They printed them on Wednesday; however, they had to be sent back due to a lot of errors. We do not print the narratives here at the school, they are done at our Operations Office. If you should have any questions, please contact Ms. Steward at the front desk.
